Yuvan's story
Yuvan is autistic. Reading didn't click for him the usual way. Then we tried a program that teaches reading through singing, and his reading took off. Songs gave him a reason to look at the words, and the patience to see them again and again.
Not every family can pay for a program like that, or find one at all. So we built our own, and made it free for everyone.
What Songbird Reader is
306 original sung stories from Kindergarten to Grade 5, each with its own picture, a gentle word game, and a bird to hatch. It's designed to be calm, predictable and kind, with no ads, no accounts and no pressure.
How it's made
Songbird Reader is made by Yuvan's family, with help from AI tools for writing code and songs. Every song is original. Reading levels follow common Kindergarten to Grade 5 reading skills, from first sight words to poetry.
